Southloom Premium Balaramapuram Unakkupaavu Wedding Pudava Set Mundu
The handing over of the 'Pudava and Kavani' (പുടവയും കവണിയും) by the groom to the bride is the most sacred of all rituals in a Kerala Hindu Wedding. Everything from the Thread Count of the Pudava, to the 'Chutti' and the Folding is carefully considered while this auspicious piece of Handloom Pudava is woven by expert weaver artists of Balaramapuram.
Southloom™ has designated only the best of our weavers with the task of weaving our this Pudava and Kavani. The Kasavu (used for the golden borders) is the Original Pure Kasavu, with actual gold content in it. We do not use Half Fine Kasavu to weave the Pudava, only Pure Original Kasavu.
The 'Chutti' or the arrow like design at the border of the Neriyathu Munthaani and at the lower end of the Mund is also woven as per Hindu customs, which has been around for centuries. You can also find the signature yellow creases which is a symbol of authentic Balaramapuram Handloom.
Unlike other Set Mundu the Pudava and Kavani also has a different folding.
